Cholesterol

Cholesterol is an organic compound found in all cells and body fluids of the human body. It plays an important role by participating in the construction of cell membranes; the formation of adrenal and sex hormones, vitamin D, bile acids and others. Most of the cholesterol is synthesized in the liver, and the rest is obtained through food. The main dietary sources of cholesterol are: fatty meats, internal organs (liver, kidneys), eggs, milk fat and others.
